Nardo, dann der Podestà und Ramiro, darauf Serpetta

Rezitativ

Nardo

O ich Ärmster! Ich habe meine Herrin

überall gesucht und kann sie nicht finden;

ach, ich fürchte… wer weiß… vielleicht hat sie sich

dem Grafen zu erkennen gegeben… doch nein,

das kann nicht sein, hat sie mir doch befohlen,

mich ihm nicht zu entdecken…

Doch da kommen Leute, ich will mich verstecken,

es könnte sein, dass man nachforscht…

(er tritt beiseite und beobachtet die Szene)

Ramiro (im Gespräch mit dem Podestà)

Sie muss jedoch beweisen,

dass sie Violante ist.

Podestà

Das versteht sich;

doch ihre freimütige, beherzte Rede zeigt mir,

fast möchte ich wetten…

Ramiro

Nun gut, einstweilen

bin ich überzeugt…

Serpetta (gibt vor, außer Atem zu sein)

Was für ein Unglück, was für ein Missgeschick!

Sandrina ist entflohen.

Podestà

Weh mir! Was sagst du da?

Nardo

(Entflohen? Wieso denn das?)

Ramiro

Das verstehe ich nicht.

Podestà

Ach, da ist keine Zeit zu verlieren;

man muss sie wiederfinden, ich werde

alles durchsuchen, alles auf den Kopf stellen…

Es sollen sofort alle hier antreten!

Serpetta

Aber es ist schon Nacht.

Podestà

Ob Nacht oder Tag,

man spute sich, nach ihr zu fahnden…

Doch nein, ich werde selbst nach ihr suchen.

(geht ab mit Ramiro)

Scene 13

Nardo, then the Podestà and Ramiro, and finally Serpetta.

Recitative

Nardo

s’ella stessa mi diede ordine espresso

di non scoprirmi a lui...

Ma qui gente ne viene, vo’ celarmi

se potessi indagare...

(si ritira e sta in osservazione)

Ramiro (discorrendo col barone)

Deve però provare

che Violante ella sia.

Podestà

Questo s’intende;

ma pur dal suo parlar libero e franco

quasi scommetterei...

Ramiro

E ben, qualora

resterò persuaso...

Serpetta (finge di essere affannata)

Che accidente, che caso!

È fuggita Sandrina.

Podestà

Oimè! Che dici!

Nardo

(Fuggita, come mai!)

Ramiro

Non mi capacito.

Podestà

Ah non si perda tempo;

si deve ritrovar, farò fracassi

precipizi, ruine...

Presto vadino tutti.

Serpetta

Ma già siamo alla notte.

Podestà

O notte o giorno,

si mandi, si spedisca a ricercarla...

eh no, che andrò in persona per trovarla.

(parte con Ramiro)

Je pense et raisonne toujours :

Je suis vivant, mon cœur exulte,

À moi les plaisirs et la joie !

(Il sort.)

Scène 13

Nardo, puis le Podestat et Ramiro, et enfin Serpetta

Récitatif

Nardo

Oh ! pauvre de moi ! ma maîtresse,

Je l’ai cherchée partout et ne la puis trouver ;

Ah ! je crains bien…qui sait ?… peut-être au Comte

S’est-elle fait connaître… Ah ! cela ne se peut ;

Puisqu’elle-même m’a donné l’ordre formel

De ne me point découvrir à lui…

Mais on vient, cachons-nous !

Si je pouvais savoir…

(Il se retire et observe la scène.)

Ramiro (discutant avec le Podestat)

Il lui faut cependant prouver

Qu’elle est bien Violante.

Le Podestat

Cela s’entend ;

Mais à son parler franc et sans détours,

Je jurerais presque…

Ramiro

Ma foi, en attendant

Je resterai persuadé…

Serpetta (feignant d’être hors d’haleine)

Quelle aventure ! Quel histoire !

Sandrina s’est enfuie.

Le Podestat

Malheur ! Que dis-tu là ?

Nardo

(Enfuie ? Comment cela ?)

Ramiro

Je n’y puis rien comprendre.

Le Podestat

Ah ! Il n’y a pas de temps à perdre ;

Il faut la retrouver, je vais tout retourner,

Tout chambouler, tout chambarder !…

Vite, que tous se pressent !

Serpetta

Mais il fait déjà nuit.

Le Podestat

Qu’il fasse nuit ou jour,

Qu’on se mette, qu’on coure à sa recherche !

Mais non ! J’irai moi-même et je la trouverai.

(Il sort avec Ramiro.)




