TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM PROBABLE CAUSE CORRECTION
Engine will
not
crank/start.
1. Safety interlock system is not
engaged or is faulty.
1. Check safety interlock system
(see Safety Interlock System on
page 11).
2. Fuel tanks empty. 2. Fill fuel tanks (see FILLING FUEL
TANKS on page 13).
3. Fuel shut-off valve closed. 3. Open fuel shut-off valve.
4. Discharged battery. 4. Charge battery (see Charging the
Battery on page 21).
5. Poor connection between battery
and battery cables.
5. Tighten battery cables and/or
clean battery and battery cables
(see Cleaning Battery and Battery
Cables on page 21).
6. Spark plug wire(s) loose or spark
plug(s) faulty.
6. Connect spark plug wire(s) or
replace spark plug(s). Refer to
Engine Manual for detailed
instructions.

PTO or

blades do
not engage
or shuts off.
1. Operator presence switch not
depressed.
1. Depress operator presence switch
by sitting on seat.

3. Electric clutch connector is loose
or disconnected.
3. Connect the electric clutch

connectors, or clutch.
