REMOVAL
1. Remove spark plug wire from spark plug.
2. Drain all fuel from fuel tank.
3. Remove fuel tank from unit.
NOTE: Once fuel tank is removed be sure to
remove any excess fuel from tank. Clean up any
spilled fuel.
4. Carefully remove fuel pick-up line from side
of the tank. Keep for reinstallation.
IMPORTANT: If fuel pick-up line gets caught try to
gently wiggle the line free. Forcefully pulling the
line out may damage the fuel gauge rails.
5. Once the pick-up line is removed and the
tank is empty verify that the gauge reads
empty. Then tip the tank upside down and
verify that the gauge reads full. This will
indicate if the gauge is functioning properly.
NOTE: If the fuel gauge does not indicate full when
upside down there may be damage to the fuel
gauge and the fuel tank will need to be replaced.
INSTALLATION
1. When reinserting fuel pick-up line tip fuel tank
up vertically and position fuel intake tube
toward the rear of the tank (Figure 1). Be
careful not to insert the tube between the fuel
guage rails.
NOTE: Tipping the tank up helps the fuel pick-up
line to be routed correctly around the fuel gauge
rails.
2. Position the tank in the operating position and
verify that the gauge reads empty. Then tip
the tank upside down and verify that the
gauge reads full. This will indicate whether
the gauge is working properly or not.
IMPORTANT: If fuel gauge does not indicate full
the fuel tank may need to be replaced or the fuel
pick-up line may be routed between the fuel gauge
rails (Figure 2). If this occurs remove and reinstall
the fuel pick-up line.
3. Reinstall fuel tank.
4. Add fuel in increments to ensure fuel gauge is
working properly.
5. Attach spark plug wire to spark plug.
