The AMP 24 electric Sno-Thro begins a new era for Ariens Sno-Thro products, and with this new product

line, dealers need to be aware of unique operating and service elements. Please review the following infor-

mation to ensure you are prepared to properly stock and service the AMP 24 Sno-Thro.

BATTERY CHARGING/STORAGE AND INVENTORY

AMP Sno-Thro units that have not been set up and operated can be stored without charging the batter-

ies for up to six months. Once the six-month point is reached, the batteries must be fully charged.

When a unit is removed from the crate and is being used, even occasionally, it must be connected to

the charger when not in use - as recommended in the operator's manual. It is extremely important that

this message is passed down to the end-customer. Failure to keep batteries fully charged will reduce

battery life and void battery warranty.

Do not allow AMP Sno-Thro batteries to freeze. A discharged battery can freeze if stored in tempera-

tures below 32°F (0° C). To prevent freezing, keep the battery connected to a functioning battery char-

ger when not in use.

Each unit ships with the standard battery charger. Dealers may wish to have a 20-amp heavy-duty bat-

tery charger (part number 71600100) as a service charger. The heavy-duty charger will fully charge

the batteries in approximately 3 hours. The standard battery charger takes approximately 7 hours to

charge the batteries after use.

Inventory should be rotated so that it is first in, first out to ensure the best possible battery life.
